A Media Creation Tablet
The goal is to convert Microsoft's Surface Pro into a fully pen / touch capable tablet for creative apps such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Cinema 4D. Used Surface Pro's can be had for around $500 and make a good introduction to using a standalone tablet for content creation without having to make a large investment. The following tutorials can be applied to any Wacom pen capable tablet running Windows 8 or 8.1 including the dream Wacom Cintiq Companion (Windows 8 version only - NOT the Android version).
These tutorials should result in a fully standalone tablet experience using only pen and touch. Of course, a 3 button mouse and a keyboard will yield better results workflow-wise but the pen / touch setup is fully functional.
If you want to delve deeper into the tablet experience for content creation, I highly recommend keeping tabs on this site:
This website is constantly digging for new information on using tablets for content creation.
If anyone would care to add to the capability, please let us know on our Twitter or G+ account at the bottom of the page. We're especially interested in a simple numerical keypad overlay to make it easier to enter numbers into a field. The ones I tried would only enter 1 number and not a string of numbers.
Let me know!
